I Miss...[WARNING: grammar rant]

Sun Dec 16, 2007, 1:59 PM

  • Listening to: Smashmouth-"Defeat You"
  • Reading: It, by Stephen King
  • Playing: Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
I miss grammar. Spelling, too.

Seriously people, where did you get the idea that it was okay to type horribly on purpose?
COME ON.

I mean, it's not just deviantart. There are so many other places where people can't even seem to type a proper sentence, using such crap as "kthnx" and "i no u ---" and just so many things that make me want to scream!

And, yeah, it's one thing if you make a few little typos. Sure, that's no big deal.
But when there's all this bullcrap with every other word being misspelled, that's when it gets annoying. Hey, you seem to have access to the internet, what with your posting on deviantart/other sites. So why can't you just quickly look up a word on, say, dictionary.com or something? It would only take a moment of your time, and it'd make you look a whole lot better. (Grammar, too--that can be just as easily helped, I bet.) It's not like you're wasting time looking things up--5 minutes is only 5 minutes. Don't give me any bull about "well, i just dun hav time to"--no. You have time. You're already on your computer, it doesn't hurt to just--heaven forbid--type in a link or two, a few words, and learn how to spell a word, or the difference between "your" and "you're", now does it?

Oh, I understand if English isn't your first language. Grammar and spelling can be really hard in another language--goodness knows how many problems I have with learning French grammar, and spelling?!--don't get me started.
When English is your first language, and you still can't get it right at age 16, or however old you are... Seriously, people, that's what pushes the envelope for me. (Or however that damned saying goes...)

If you agree with my point of view, okay. If you don't, also okay. Tell me whatever you like--but it damn well better be grammatically correct and spell-checked. :P

Sorry if I seem like a bitch (pardon, it's the easiest, most blunt way I can put it.), but this is how I am, and this is what I think. So if it seems a little rude to you, guess what? This is how I think everyday. So sorry if it offends you, but I don't think I care much about if it offended you, rather about if it got a message through to you.

Also sorry for spamming up your message box. Most people don't take the time to read these things anyway.

In other news, I still do not have a scanner. I might just have to go to one of my friends' and use theirs.
Well, if I finish a decent picture in time. =D Sorry for lack of comments/art/everything.

Thank you for your time.

~The Rainbow Necromancer

--->Okay, yeah. I still like to use "lol" and "lawl." Just for the fun of it, you know? But when that is all you can use--envelope-pushing, people!
And no, I'm not picking on anyone in particular. This has built up over a long period of time, waiting to be typed.

Ha.
I expected you to do something like that.

Your opinion is invalid. :P

Yeah, grammer does get annoying, and well, normally I'm speeling challenged, lol. You know you can come over to my house and scan your stuff ^^

Yeah, i agree with you. It can get REALLY frustrating trying to decode a message >.>... but sometime i can get carried away as well ^^;
i find using good grammar helps people to understand what your trying to tell them a bit more, but that might just be me ^^;
Can't wait to hear from you, and i hope you get a scanner soon!
:iconamberspike-sama:
Oh, I know what you mean. The rampant lack of grammar/spelling online is horrid, and it just makes people look less intelligent when they do it. And yes, when it takes effort just to make out what they're saying, then it's just gone too far. >>
Aww, sorry about your lack of a scanner... ;; Hope you can get some art up soon, and hopefully I can as well. ^^;

Aw, lots of us are spelling challenged. (Lol, I noticed that. xD) I have some bad ideas where I can hardly type or write a word! ^^;

Maybe I will.
If I'm ever allowed to leave the house. >.>

Only you. :)

And your opinion which does not count, because I know you can spell.

Whether or not one can write is the real question.
For me, the answer is a big fat "NO" stamped in red at the top of my paper with a zero written next to it. :heart:

Exactly. People look extremely stupid when they use chat speak for everything.
The effort usually turns out not to be worth it, anyhow. :/

8D It's my New Years Resolution to hook up the danged thing.
Since we totally have it fixed.
I think. ^^;
